Confidentiality and Privacy of Information

New Jersey College Counseling Association (NJCCA) collects identifying information from its members and/or attendees at their programs. This information may include, but is not limited to: name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, education level, profession, and licensure type/status.

 Information related to requests for accommodations under the American with Disability Act (ADA) and similar state, federal, and local laws, is collected to provide appropriate accommodations to program participants with legally-recognized disabilities. 

Personal information that is collected will only be used or disclosed for the following direct, and directly related secondary purposes:

  • Compliance with and/or audit by National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)
  • In accordance with requirements for Approved Continuing Education Provider status by NBCC
  • Credentialing from professional, state, and/or federal organization as related to trainings
  • Complaints, appeals, and/or grievance reporting process as pertaining to resolution process for continuing education and/or membership
  • Communication with individual regarding their training and/or membership and/or experience with NJCCA
  • Emergency situations
  • Completion of a transaction and/or for non-payment, refund, or authorization of funds for membership and/or trainings
 Personal information will only be otherwise disclosed with the written consent of the individual or the person’s Guardian or Attorney acting under Power of Attorney; and as authorized or permitted by law.
