Resources for Clients

Web resources and useful handouts for counseling clients.

Send contributions for this page to Jim Mandala.

988lifeline.org - Website for the national 988 hotline. In addition to providing for direct contact, there is information on several mental health topics meant to be helpful to those suffering from specific problems or belonging to specific populations.

Eating disorders information from the Mayo Clinic.

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance  (https://www.dbsalliance.org/) - A nice collection of resources for those with mood disorders, including listings of local support groups around the United States. Though many are no longer meeting during the pandemic, there are listings for online support.

This Way Up - anonymous, free self-help for a variety of anxiety disorders and depression. They currently offer three Self Help "courses".
  1. Shyness course helps individuals who experience anxiety in social situations, such as being the center of attention or speaking in front of people.
  2. Stress Management course teaches individuals about active coping and effective communication to help them deal with daily stressors more effectively.
  3. Worry and Sadness course helps individuals who suffer from symptoms of anxiety, worry and sadness.
Nomie - Life tracker/Mood diary for Android, iOS, or Chrome browser. It is very customizable - you choose the scales and what they track: mood, behaviors, weight, etc. Unlike other mood apps, it does not capture or give away your personal data. It is only stored on your device or you can  store  it encrypted in Blockstack storage.

Autism Resources curated by Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services.
